IG Releases Instagram Rooms Feature | Social Media Marketing Tips & Updates

Just in case if you haven't heard yet, Instagram (IG)  released it new Rooms Feature, which is called Instagram RoomsThe concept is like Clubhouse and the difference with IG is that it is video format.

Instagram Rooms Benefits: 

1. Live Broadcast up to 4 People

2. Live Shopping and Fundraisers. Both beneficial opportunities to increase income and to contribute to good causes. 

3. Broadcast will support badges, which means viewers can buy badges for the hosts. This is an opportunity for creators to earn some income from their broadcast. 


4. Opportunity to raise further awareness about your brand and to reach a wider audience.

5. Collaboration opportunities with other Creative Entrepreneurs, Social Media Influencers and Brands and/or Businesses. The other opportunity to engage and interact with each others audiences.

Other New Upcoming Features will include: 

Interactive Moderator Tools and Audio Features which will be released in the near feature. 

How Rooms Works

  1. Go to Live Camera Option Button as you would normally for recording Live Videos 
  2. Add Title (you will see a feature on the left-side of your Live Screen Vide tap on it).
  3. Add Guests On the bottom of the page you see a Video Icon with a Plus Sign Symbol, which gives you the option to add people. You will either see people who have requested to join you, or you can add them by searching their name.

I will be testing Instagram Rooms Feature and also have a preference for video interaction; as it enables people to form more authentic relationships much faster. I can’t compare it to clubhouse yet, it is still early stages for both Apps for me as a user. I am all for testing out new Social Media features and often exclude my emotional reaction releases of new products features (i.e. negative emotions).

Reason being? 
One can easily get lost in being caught up with how a new feature is impacting them personally, rather than seeing the benefits and potential that can be actualized. 

I often hear people express concern of how Instagram/Facebook are copying other Social Media features from other Social Media Platforms, this is nothing new there will always be competition with popular brands. The likelihood is that Instagram/Facebook will not be the last company which will do this.

The best way to view change is through innovative eyes. Also to look at it from the perspective of your audience and ideal customers and how it would benefit them. For instance, are your audience highly engaged users who embrace innovative ideas easily? If the your answer is yes, and you are not as receptive to change you might are most likely to be left behind.   

On that note: Watch out for Twitter as they will soon be releasing a similar feature.
