 ENROL TODAY!

I am keen to know your views as a Creative Entrepreneur, how you feel about posting your own personal images (pictures or video) on Social Media. 1. What is your intention and motivating factor for considering, or wanting to post your personal images on Social Media as a Creative Entrepreneur? This also includes you if you are just starting out as an Aspiring Entrepreneur. What is your REASON WHY, beyond your images (including videos) being aesthetically pleasing to others?

ü  Is your first intention to serve yourself? For instance, do you post on Instagram to feel better within yourself. To help boost your emotional well-being and to gain recognition from other? To show how excited you are about your new product/service, or the promotional offer?

ü  Or is your initial intention and motivating factor to help others? To share educational information based on your Lessons Learnt? To contribute to adding greater Social Value.

ü  What do you stand for? What are your core values?

    2. What is the overall outcome are you looking to achieve as a result of posting?

   3. If you are uncertain about posting your personal picture. What do you believe holds you back? For instance, makes you shy away or fear or hold certain beliefs about posting your images on Social Media?

   4. If you had never seen the images, or videos of Celebrities, Public Figures, Social Media Influencers and TV Personalities would you have felt as connected to them as you do now?

55. Could you also be holding onto traditional beliefs about how Social Media was perceived in the beginning? For instance, that most people use Social Media for vanity reasons?

Ever heard the quote, "a picture is worth a thousand words." Psychologically, whether we like it, or not, images evoke certain emotions within us, which in motivate us to either react, or take action based on what we visually see.

The above data just goes demonstrates that Social Media is unlikely to go away anytime soon, especially as innately, we are social and curious creatures. Human connectivity is what drives the increase and growth of interaction on Social Media and incentivizes people to remain plugged in the majority of the time.

If there is anything that the current Coronavirus Pandemic has shown us, is there has been an increased need for humanity connectivity via video (Digital and Social Media communication means). An increased need for people to see each other. It has also become more relevant to show up as yourself more than before (the person behind the brand), as the Social Media Platforms become increasingly saturated with content. It is will become a survival necessity to showcase yourself more, in order to be able to authentically stand out as you and as a brand personality.

THE MARKET IS TOO SATURATED FOR ME TO COMPETE OR TO BE SEEN:

Do not let the fact that the Social Media Market is saturated defeat your sole purpose and intention, of why you want to contribute to adding to Social Value beyond the aesthetics. The market will feel saturated, if you are trying to be like someone else, or to compete with other people. The only competition that is there is with you (your internal self-limiting beliefs) and how to overcome certain beliefs which may have been holding you back from showcasing more of your personality.

Do keep in mind that Social Media Platforms will most likely always be saturated. This is something that is beyond our control. Although there are a billion people on there, you still matter, your voice and views does have relevance. What matters most is how you show in the world and how often you showcase your personality, to start building meaningful relationships with your audience and prospective clients.

If you are not proactively engaged regularly and consistently, is it much easier for people to easily forget, especially when you are just starting out as a Creative Entrepreneur. Trust takes time to develop and build on.

BE INTENTIONAL AND PURPOSEFUL ABOUT YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA INTENTIONS – GOALS AND OUTCOMES

It is essential to have a Clear Live Vision Plan, which help you to strategically map out your Social Media Content Strategy. Once you have it in place, the word ahead becomes much easier in mentally. It become much easier to maintain consistent motivation beyond the self-doubt, loss of confidence and personal criticism.

When your REASON WHY become grander that your self-image, you start to focus more on your artistry, adding social value and on continuous self-development.
You start to focus more on creating content which adds meaningful value for your audience rather than focusing on how they will perceive you (i.e. fear of judgement and failure). Even if they judge you, remember that their thoughts and judgements are their own limitations and fears which they project onto you.

You will also find that you will increasingly move away from perfection; the need to perfect yourself and your work before you are able to release it to the worldThe only best way to learn is to start doing, fail forward and continue to pick yourself up. It is natural to perceive ourselves in a negative light, to be more self-critical. It about moving beyond and past those moment and not letting those moments prevent you from showcasing what you have to offer.
Trust your gut intuition this is what will help you to believe in what is possible, in terms of self-believe, self-love and confidence and your genuine intentions of wanting to help others.

Being in service and adding value wins over other people’s perceptions of you. The people who are ready to receive your message, will receive and value you regardless of your how you look, how perfect your images are (picture or video). The key essential component the words (content) that are accompanied with your picture and/or video.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS PERFECTION: People love connecting to another human being, someone who is within reach and is relatable to them. Tiktok is showing us more the significance of being relatable and importance of people feeling more confident to show up as themselves; without the need of focusing heavily on aesthetics. The platform is showing people that there are more people out there who they can relate to, and that they do not need to be perfect (i.e. Super Model or Celebrity) to gain a following.

TIPS WHICH CAN HELP YOU IN OVERCOME SELF-DOUBT & FEAR ABOUT POSTING YOUR PERSONAL IMAGES:

  • Is is worth investing in considering and outlining on paper your purpose, intention, and motivating factor for wanting to post on Social Media. Taking into consideration your Life Vision and Purpose ( Reason Why). What outcomes are you planning to achieve, including who you see connecting with your content.
  •  Consider your Brand Personality Colors to help with designing your branding image and personality. These are colors that you are connected with which signify something that is closely related to Life Vision and Purpose, which then connects to the people you want to be able to help. People are very visual, and colors leave a lasting image. Your brand colors also help you to switch between your personal pictures and creative designs.
  • People know what they want. You do not need to sell all the time to them. At the end of the end your personality and who you are as an individual is what will sell.
  • Maximize on all the tools that have been provided by Instagram for Content Creators (including Facebook Creator Studio), to enable you with connecting with your ideal audience.
Lastly personal videos and pictures enable you, the opportunity to showcase your personality; this is regardless of any flaws, or imperfections you may believe you have. It enables others to get to know how you feel about topics you are passionate about. Also the opportunity to learn from you best on your thought, perceptions, views and educational background.

To end, I do not believe that posting your images on Social Media is boasting, especially if your intentions are to do good in this world, to add social value and to help others.

MY PERSONAL BRANDING STORY

Growing up, I used to dislike how I looked and sounded. I also did not like sharing my personal pictures on public forms. Also dreaded the idea of recording myself or being recorded on video camera due again to how I looked and sounded.

I had developed certain limiting beliefs about myself and projected them externally to the world and people would perceive. I thought people would judge me based on how I looked and sounded. My perceptions were based on what I saw in Magazine, TV and Social Media, of women who looked like goddesses in my eyes; “societies definition of perfection.”
All the fears that I had were not based on what other people said. I was hold myself back due to my own personal fears of potentially failure. The fear of being judged by others, and how I would feel or respond as a result of their comments.

I also didn’t know the benefits of Social Media, including the benefits of building a brand personality. I had preconceived notions about what social media, especially Instagram based on external influences.

Long story short, discovering what my life vision and passion enabled me to push beyond my self-limiting beliefs and barriers. It enabled me through failing forward, to start gaining confidence overtime in what my sole purpose was and intention. As a result of building my brand personality overtime, showing up as myself (in pictures and images) has enabled me to connect with like-minded people for instance within my Digital Nomad (Social and Digital Nomad) Community and also to gain a few opportunities where individuals or companies have approached me to collaborate with them.

I hope that if you have been hesitating and holding back, that my blog post has given you some insight into the benefits of showing up as you?
