Day 3 Mindset Challenge: Entrepreneurship Tips on Why Positive Affirmation Helps | Goal Getters

Positive Affirmations will help you immensely as an entrepreneur, especially if you struggle with self-belief and self-confidence. It is about taking accountability and control of your own life and not waiting for other people to affirm how great you are. You might have been waiting for your whole life for instance to hear words such as "I am proud of you or you are talented," but never heard them.

"Positive affirmations are inspiring statements that are useful when you’re trying to fight negative thinking and self-doubt. When you’re trying to make the leap from employee to entrepreneur, negative thoughts about this decision may occur. Your daily thoughts can impact the level of success you attain in your business.  " - Keesha Johnson

Truth be told that adapting a Positive Affirmations helped me shift from an Employee to an Entrepreneurship Mindset. I decided that in order to shift from the place of feeling stuck and as though my life was going nowhere fast in actualizing my Life Vision and Purpose, I need to shift something mentally in terms of my outlook. Although, I enjoyed my career in the Public and Corporate Sector there was always something that was missing internally.

I was mainly held back by self-limiting beliefs such as;

1.  Fear of failure, success and feelings of overwhelm of the steps it took to start a business.

2. Self-doubt in my abilities to step outside of the comfort of my career.

3. I carried self-imposed invisible scarlet letters such as, "I am not good enough, too shy, or what if I failed."

Soon after leaving my career, I joined a 21 Day Mindset and Self-Development Challenge followed by Entrepreneurship Mindset Challenges. I knew the only way to shift my perceptions was to embrace my fears.

Positive Affirmations are steps and behaviors, which you have to practice continuously and routinely until they become a habit.

Affirmations are positive statements that reinforce the success you want to create in your life. I recommend making them a part of your day to day life, all day long. - MySellNyHomes

My Lessons Learnt:

1. You can move beyond where you are currently emotionally (feeling stuck, uncertain, overwhelmed, scared and fearful of the unknown) to where you visualize yourself being in life by changing your daily mindset routines and habits

2. Positively Affirming yourself does not mean that you are ignoring external life challenging situations, its means that you empowering yourself to feel, be human and to still feel empowered through times of adversity.

3. Positive Affirmations help you to have more of an optimistic outlook in life and to move beyond, "misery loves company and full time negative thinking."

4. Positive Affirmations does not mean that you are happy all the time. It means you are realistic about life. It helps to be solutions focused and to take personal accountability when you are confronted by personal life changing and challenging circumstance.

5. If helps you to become more resilient, confident in your potential to achieve your Entrepreneurship Goals.

6. You need to positively affirm yourself, otherwise how will others (prospective clients) believe in you, if you don't believe in yourself? You also want to be open-minded to opportunities coming your way, no matter how long it takes.

Note: Keep in mind that change does not happen over night.

1. It is also beneficial to surround yourself with people who have an optimistic outlook in life. People who are solution focused and goal getters.

2. If you are in the financial position to do, it is also worth investing in a Coach or an Specialist in the area you are looking to change your lifestyle (i.e. nutrition, fitness, mindset).
